The Witch's hands cupped around the candle's flickering flame. Its warmth spread heat throughout her body while its light shone brightly in the dark. She found herself thinking yet again of the man from whom she tried so hard every day and night to distance herself. The candle's warm light in the darkness was like him, so strong and brave, so true, so warm, so welcoming . . .
A wind whistled through the Manor, snapping out the candle's light. Piper sighed, her facial expression falling and her face itself dropping into her cupped hands. That was her life. Her life with Leo.
