Buffy watched in surprise as Faith made a hasty retreat from the library. The dark Slayer looked over her shoulder, finally prompting the blonde to ask, "Faith, what's wrong?"
"Oh." Startled, she actually jumped, making Buffy grin. "Everything's five by five, B. It's just Giles' coffee maker is broke."
"So? It's not like he drinks much coffee. He's more of a tea person."
"Uh huh. Look. I gotta split. I got other stuff to do besides hang with you and your little crowd in school." She made a face and then was gone.
Buffy continued on. Quickly, it became her turn to jump as a sword embedded in the library door swinging shut behind her. "Touche."
Buffy looked up from the quivering sword to Giles, to Wesley, back to Giles, and finally back to Wesley, who smiled rather smugly. "It would appear your former Watcher is still an apt sparring opponent under the right conditions." Buffy was soon thinking that not only was Faith right but that she never wanted to see Giles again without his morning cup of joe. "Somebody's getting a new coffee maker," she announced as she finally bested him after landing on her own rear a dozen times.
