X-Men Cartoons

It's no secret that I hate the X-Men movies (except for First Class) with a bloody passion, but I absolutely ADORE the X-Men cartoons (at least, the ones I've seen, any way, which is all but the new magna that's not yet Stateside). Here, in an entry for a
tv_universe challenge (Tell them Kat Lee of Team Bunny Ears sent you if you join!), are my top ten reasons why.

Going from the top corner sideways and then down:
1. Morph! I absolutely ADORED his characters in the '90s 'toon! I can never get enough of him or, at least, of his good side!
2. I LOVE the representations of pretty much all the characters in this 'verse, but I especially LOVE Hank! Big, Blue, and Fuzzy has always been one of my favorite X-Men, but he's never been handled better than he was here! I especially adore his habits of reading and mixing chemicals while hanging upside down, as seen here.
3. The show gave us a lot of moments of the team as a family and as just "normal" people in their everyday lives. Such times are often my favorite moments.
4. ROLO!! My first taste of RoLo, and Storm is so badass here! She's terrific throughout the whole cartoon, but especially this future 'Ro who's married and in love with Logan but willing to risk their love to make things right.
5. JUBILEE! This show was my first taste of the X-Men, what hooked me in the beginning, and I LOVED Jubes! She had style, she was young, but yet, as we saw in the comics when she first met Wolverine when she rescued him, she was determined to stand up for and by those she cared for and who cared for her!
6. Kurtty!! I never looked at these two as a potential pairing until Evolution, but I have adored them together ever since. Kurt's always been sweet, but he was especially sweet with Kitty, who learned to overlook his differences (cute as they are!) to build a close, if not romantically loving, bond.
7. The X-Women were represented as kickass, strong female characters in both shows but managed to keep their feminity at the same time! (And did it all without screwing around like crazy.) This was my favorite Evolution episode.
8. Lance and Kitty!! Never in a million years would I have seen these two together, and I although I usually don't like the other medias changing characters, I loved this version of Avalanche and was constantly torn between wanting Kitty to be with him and wanting her with Kurt. On the one side, you've got a couple that's just SO cute (Kurtty), but on the other, you've got the good girl trying her best to save the "bad" guy (Lance/Kitty). What's not to love?
9. Just as with Jubilee in the '90s (and as they both were when they debutted in the comics), Kitty might have been young and inexperienced, but she always stood up for those she loved. Plus, just like with the '80s comics, she was the only one who could always reach through Logan's beast to the softer man inside.
10. Ororo's characterization was excellent in both series, but her teacher/role model/mother role was awesomely handled in Evolution! Nothing was getting to her "children" without going through her first! And who really wants to mess with a Weather Witch doubling as a Goddess?
I hope this has helped you to find a reason to love two of my favorite cartoons of all time! :-)
