Gloved fingers stroke his crystal as he stares into it, both bemused and more than a little surprised, although he will never admit the former. Over his centuries of ruling this place, he has seen many a creature come through the walls of his labyrinth, each with their own way of marking their path, but he's never seen anything quite like this. His lips curve into a smile that borders on the diabolical. He likes the kid's style, the King decides.

He should have started going after boys a long time ago instead of always wasting time with their foolish sisters. This boy, this ... Winchester has style and cunning. Unlike all the girls who have come before him, he is going to know what to do when Jareth makes his offer to him a second time. He'll know what to do with the keys of his kingdom, and Jareth will finally be free. The Goblin King strokes his chin with his free hand while still watching the lad's movement in his labyrinth. His smile deepens; his eyes twinkle. He's going to have a lot of fun with this kid before the trial is over.

His regal lips part. His laughter echoes through the still walls of his castle for even now the boy is looking around him. Others have suspected that he watched their movements, but Dean actually raises his gaze to the castle and greets his unseen observant. "I'm coming for you," he growls.

His backpack jostles, and he shakes it in warning. "Be quiet in there, and keep this fire blazing or you'll never get your head back on your body." He resumes walking, keeping the Fieries' arms out at length and blazing a fiery trail through the flames shooting from the creature's orange fingers to mark his way to the center of the maze. "You'll regret the day you stole my brother!"

Jareth laughs again and glances over his crystal ball to where Dean's baby brother, Sammy, is being kept busy by his Goblins. He chuckles again, clearly amused. "I highly doubt it, Winchester, but you will be the most fun I've had in centuries." This boy is going to make it to his castle, and Jareth highly anticipates his movements when he does so. Oh, yes, he thinks, the most fun in centuries. He laughs again; his subjects slowly join into his merriment lest they risk his ire.
