Rogue's Family Matters

The following is a challenge answer for a
tv_universe land comm challenge including the characters of Blanche Deveraux (The Golden Girls), Rogue (X-Men), and Jacob Stone (The Librarians.) Remember, if you join us, to be sure to tell them Kat Lee of Team Bunny Ears sent you!

Blanche Deveraux is Aunt to both Rogue and Jake. She taught Rogue her feminine wiles during the short time she stayed with her as a girl. Blanche and Jake have been around each other little, only at family gatherings, but Rogue and he know each other well. They used to play together on vacations as children. The way their family treated Rogue when she developed her mutant powers is a large part of why Jacob never dared reveal his own gift to their family. Blanche had left Georgia for Miami by that time, and by the time she learned of what happened with Rogue, the girl was already gone.
And, as an extra special bonus, here's a drabble I wrote years ago when the idea of Blanche and Rogue first being related popped into my head:
"No! No! No! Not like that at all!" Blanche Deveraux exclaimed, her perfect, ruby lips tisking at the young child before her.
"What?" the girl asked in confusion. She'd barely began to speak! "All I said was -- "
Blanche held up a hand. "Stop right there, Anna Marie! A true Southern belle does not allow buttah ta melt in her mouth! Now repeat aftah me. Ah."
"I."
"No. Ah."
"I."
Blanche shook her head and slowly drew out the word. "Aaahhh."
"Ah," Anna Marie said, opening her mouth as though she was showing her tongue to a doctor.
"No," Blanche corrected again. "Softah, shugah, like a mere breath o' air." Again she emphasized each distinct character. "Aaaaaaahhhhhhh."
"Aaahhh."
"Now shorter. Ah."
"Ah?"
"There!" Blanche beamed her approval upon her niece. "Ya have it!"
Anna Marie smiled as she secretly thought that she hoped "it" wasn't catching and that not all the lessons of how to be a real lady like her Aunt Blanche would be so confusing.
The End
