He's tried hard not to let it happen, but she's broken down and through every one of his toughest defenses. Now he knows: The Widow's bitten another, because wherever she goes, the States, Russia, or anywhere else, he's going to be right there beside or doing his damndest, regardless of consequences, to be with her.
Nat just smiles, shrugs, and kisses him again, ignoring his unspoken fears the whole while; she's got nowhere else better to go than Steve's beloved States, after all, -- except the Captain's arms.
The End
To an outsider, they are mutants, freaks, dangerous people with dangerous powers. Most fear them; some hate them; a few respect them for saving the lives of people who would kill them. But to an X-Man, once they've been with the team for a while, they're much more than any of that; they're a family, just trying to do their best for each other and a world that fears and hates them.

"I won't kill you," he says, wings fluttering as his hands reach toward his dearest friend, "but I also must not allow you to eat me."
"Come on, Cas," Dean returns, teeth grown longer and bloody gnashing at his outstretched fingers, "just a little bite."
"Sleep, Dean," Castiel instructs, finally stroking his forehead, "I'll wake you when it's over."

She's lied to herself all these years, she thinks, watching the dragon across from her laugh and smile. She built a life for herself, built a world she thought she could call her own, but it was all lies. The truth is this is all she's ever really wanted: to build a relationship with her family, to call her mother her own, to earn her love and give her trust.
