They never speak of emotions. Men aren't supposed to let their hearts dictate their actions, after all, but he's learned the old man is as secretly ruled by his passions as he himself is. He's learned to read him as well as obey him, not simply because of his respect for him but also out of respect for the things he can do to him. As much as he hates to admit it, the old man really does hold power over him. From his belt buckle to the metal in his bones, Magneto can do terrible things to Creed, and he's about the last man he wants to make angry.
Yet, that isn't the reason he never calls him on his feelings. He holds true respect for him, because he knows what it's like to love and lose. He knows too well what it feels like to love a man who will never return that love and who thinks his heroics and good intentions make him better than the man who was stupid enough to fall in love with him in the first place. Magneto may pine for Charles, but Creed still loves one of the old, bald man's favorite students.
"We're going to make them pay," Erik whispers where the others can not hear them.
Creed looks at his leader in surprise. This is the closest they've ever come to acknowledging each other's feelings, but after a moment, he nods. Then realizing Erik can't see him, he grunts affirmation. They will make them pay, but they will never love them. That, he knows in the end, is why, regardless of how many prisons out of which they break or victories they win over their opponents, in the end, they'll always be miserable. In the end, they'll always love them.
