"Lily! It's been too long!"
"Tish!" the other Vampiress cried in surprised delight and hurriedly wrapped her long arms around her former girlfriend. "It has indeed!" she exclaimed as she hugged her.
Twin pools of fathomlessly dark orbs gazed into each other. The Vampiress carefully touched each other's silken hair and soft flesh as they remembered nights long gone and a loving passion that had heated them both through to the very souls the mortals claimed they did not possess and kept them warm even through the coldest of winters. They shivered as, in their minds, they once more felt each other's scorching kisses, temptuous licks, and sharp, black fingernails raking their pale skin. They again heard their curdling screams of passion as they held to each other, and then a man's voice interrupted their shared memories.
"Tish!" Gomez declared, twirling his thick, black mustache. "Are you going to introduce me to your friend or not, sweetheart?"
The women broke apart, their pale faces strangely darkening. Gomez looked curiously at them but then shrugged off the guilt passing over their faces. If his beloved cara mia wanted him to know tonight's reason for guilt, she'd tell him. If it was important, she'd tell him. Otherwise, he didn't need to know.
Morticia cleared her throat as Gomez stepped into his rightful place in her arms. "Gomez, sweetheart, this is Lily. She was . . . my best friend back in college."
Lily's eyes still sparkled. "We shared many adventures in Transylvania in those days."
"Ah, yes," Gomez agreed, puffing on his cigar. "Transylvania is definitely a spooktacular haunt! Tish and I have honeymooned there."
"So," Lily queried, looking back into Morticia's eyes, "Gomez is your husband?"
"Yes, of course," Morticia quickly answered, "and I'm sure you yourself are happily married by now as well? You were always almost as good a catch as I."
"Yes, I am married. Quite happily." Lily looked over her shoulder and called, "Hermie, dear!"
"No one's as good a catch as you, mi cara mia," Gomez whispered to Morticia and kissed her hand.
"Oh, Gomez, not now," Morticia pleaded but, in her distraction, she let a French phrase slip, "mon amour."
"Ah, Tish, you spoke French!" Gomez threw away his cigar and immediately started kissing his way up Morticia's arm.
Morticia looked up as a great, stomping racket neared them and was surprised to see Lily embrace a Frankenstein. She smiled, however, as realization clicked. Lily always had liked them big, but even if they were married now, she thought, catching Lily's eye once more and remembering her howl from before as she turned back to face them after kissing her husband, they would still always have their memories. Nothing could take those cherished nights in Transylvania away from them, and Morticia would remember them every time Gomez made her howl in those haunted hills. Lily smiled at her, and she knew she was thinking the same. Their futures may no longer be entwined, but they would always share and never forget their haunting, steamy past.
