"Say it! Say it! Say it!" the youngest member of their team urged.

Logan rolled his eyes, an immature habit he'd picked up from hanging around youngsters like Jubilee and Iceman. To add to his aggravation, however, his leader did raise his shield a little higher and called out the requested words, "Avengers Assemble!"

Logan growled around his cigar, whose thick hide he'd already nearly chewn to shreds. He didn't need any one telling him when to assemble, but these people were useful right now. They had a common enemy, and he knew, no matter how annoying they were, they were even more skilled fighters.

He started to speak to their Captain when the webcrawler interrupted from his upside down post. "See? I knew it'd be so cool when you said it!"

Steve glanced out of the corner of his eyes as he heard the telltale Snikt! of his old companion's claws. "We can use him better alive, Wolverine."

"Something tells me the Webcrawler's not gonna make it outta this alive, Cap," Wolvy growled. He'd always thought the merc with a mouth would be the most annoying ally he'd ever know, but Spiderman was already beginning to beat Deadpool out of the number one spot of heroes Logan would like to kill.

Captain America glanced at the swinging Spiderman, then back to Wolverine. "I'll owe you a cold one if you let him live."

"Let who live? Me? Everybody loves their friendly, neighborhood Spiderman!" A barrage of bullets wrent the air. The heroes ducked. "Except for maybe those guys."

"It's a deal," Logan spoke, realizing Steve was still looking at him.

"Good. Now, as I was saying . . . Avengers Assemble!"

The team charged, but Logan already knew he was going to miss the X-Men while hanging with these mostly second raters.
