"And for this boy, your precious Will," Tia Dalma asked, leaning closer to Jack over the flickering light of her black candles surrounding them, "you are willing to do anything, Jack?"

Even now, he could not resist pointing out the truth. "Captain Jack," he emphasized proudly, "and aye." His gold tooth flashed in the shadows. "I'll give anythin' tae be wit' him again."

"Anything," Tia Dalma repeated in a whisper. She leaned away from him. The shadows grew around her and almost completely concealed her from his sight. "The spirits like that," she said with a broken-toothed grin. A breeze whistled through the small hut; the candles went out. "They like it a lot." Jack hit the floor. She threw her head back and laughed and was joined by another's laughter as Barbossa came forward from the back. "You did good, Witch."

Her insane laughter paused just long enough to allow her to answer, "Always. Now pay up before'n ye join 'im."

Tia Dalma had never steered Jack wrong. He knew voodooists couldn't be trusted, but she had always delivered for him. His kohl-rimmed eyes opened. He warily looked around at his new surroundings. A ship rocked back and forth underneath his body, and to say he was no longer in Tia Dalma's hut was a definite understatement. Jack's hand went straight to his sword as he stood. He knew where he was.

"Jack!" He turned toward Will's eager cry, a joyous smile breaking out over his handsome face. He knew exactly where he was, on the Dutchman's deck, never to breathe again, but he was nonetheless happy. He'd meant what he'd told the Witch: Any price was worth paying to be reunited with his love, and as he ran straight into Will's waiting arms, he knew he'd made the right decision.

The End
