Need A Word

I planned on having a writing night tonight but am having some writer's block issues. I don't know about y'all, but when this hits me, I sometimes can't think of even a common word. The word I'm looking for is for when a teacher takes something from a student in class. You know, like they have a book they're reading that they're not supposed to have, she takes it and keeps it till the end of the period or the school day? Anybody have clue one what word I'm looking for? Help, please!
