She fell against her door, too tired to search for her key. It opened. She fell into a waiting chair. The door shut. Her clothes were gently removed; a nightgown, the closest thing to actual silk she still owned, slipped over her head.
She sighed. There were nights she couldn't make it without Dennis. "Too bad you're not alive," she whispered through cracked lips. He would make somebody a fine boyfriend if he were. She wondered if that person could ever be her; then, she wondered why Angel couldn't love her. A blanket wrapped around her shoulders in a hug.
