She remembers, when she first saw her, seeing only the woman who wasn't taking care of the child she had brought into this world. She remembers seeing her and seething secretly with a jealousy she couldn't yet place or understand and a fiery vengeance that would have been better served aimed at herself. After all, Regina was trying to take care of her son, and she had chosen him when Emma had let him be taken from her.
But now, things have changed. Now, she sees a woman staring at her son, their son, aching to love him and yet being unable to do so because of another stupid curse. Now she sees the pain in the other woman, her own heart opens, and she never wants the doors to shut again. Her heart aches with mercy, but she knows it's more than that as she takes her into her arms. All of the Queen's formidable walls come tumbling down, and as the Savior kisses her, she yearns to save them both from an evil she doesn't quite yet understand.
"It's going to be okay," she whispers, pausing to rain kisses on her temples and ebony hair before taking her lips again with her own. It's going to be okay. She doesn't know how, but she will make it okay some how, some way, for Henry and for Regina and, she admits silently, for herself, too.
