"Moms, I made you something."
Regina and Emma exchanged a glance as Henry bent and began shuffling through his backpack. Soon, he began to withdraw two pieces of red construction paper. When he turned the paper over, it became clear to the women that the two pieces were actually two halves of a heart their son had created. They both beamed at him, then looked again at each other.
"About that situation we were just discussing before Henry arrived?" Emma started.
"Yes?" Regina asked.
"Don't you think it's time we tell him?"
"Tell me what?" queried Henry.
Regina looked deep into her son's eyes. Emma had given birth to him, but she had raised him. He was as much a part of her as her own, physical heart. She knew him far better than the Savior, and she was blessed for that connection. Yet, it was only now that it became clear to the former Queen that Henry was more than ready to hear the news they had to tell him. Murmuring a soft, "Yes," she reached out and took Emma's hand in hers.
Henry was shouting for joy even before his mothers could finish telling him that, just like the two halves of the heart he had created for them to share, their hearts were joined. They were together, and soon, the whole of Storybrooke would know the truth of their relationship. Emma's smile wavered slightly as she thought of telling her parents, but Henry barreling into them and wrapping his arms around them both soon vanished all dismal thoughts.
They were together. They were in love, and suddenly, she felt like shouting the news for all to hear. The two women reveled in their son's love and each other's. After all, it was Valentine's Day.
