AO3/DW/Somewhere Else?

So in trying to find a new active comm to inspire me, I've finally bitten the bullet and am beginning to seriously consider trying another site after all this time? I have no intentions of leaving LJ (ever), but if there's some fun to be had elsewhere, I may want in! Where else do y'all frequent? Are there comms/pages elsewhere you would particularly recommend? I know AO3 and DW seems to be where most people flocking, but I'll consider either or elsewhere. Heck, I know there's still bound to be more fandom participation somewhere out there, and I want in, dang it! :-(

I don't know that DW is all that fannish, unless you're gaming. I don't see that much writing there. Of course, I could be entirely in the wrong place for that.

I have a DW that I never use. I do see that most fic-comm-like things are usually crossposted somewhere on LJ.

Tumblr seems to be where most people hang out, but the format is just not conducive to conversation IMO.

Tumblr is where everyone who used to be on LJ have gone. It is infested with snarky little tweens and teens but there is a lot of fandom stuff there. It's more of a look/repost place and there isn't much communication beyond "MY ship is better than YOUR ship and YOU suck."

AO3 is a good place to post fics and read good fics. The maturity level is MUCH higher than Fan Fiction. People are much more respectful.

Dreamwidth isn't all that different from LJ. I have an account that I never use.

You might like Fan Forum. There are hundreds of fandom boards there and they do post fics. I have to limit my time there because I spend HOURS at the OUaT board and the Jen Morrison board.

Actually the Smallville fandom is still pretty busy on live journal. Glad you found the sunken ships community. Our event is in may. :) Also both secret-chlark and secretchlex still have events. And for chlex, always naughty seduction. For discussion though, that is harder. It is mostly just works and events since most discussion has been pretty picked over.
