Her mere presence demands attention. She forgets that some days and doesn't seem to realize that they're all staring at her, watching her every move, some out of lust, others out of fear, and still others out of some strange mixture of the two emotions. She feels like she's been used, and some days, it's almost too much.
Almost for then she looks around her at the young people again, the young people whose lives she has saved already so many times, whose lives she is molding. She's not going to lose them like she did her Hellions and Generation X. She refuses to lose a third group of students, especially some of these children.
She likes to remember that her blood is running through the Cuckoos, even if she'll never be in their father's arms again, and she takes a certain pride in the fact that she's training the X-Men now instead of Charles Xavier. They may not have come to her, but they've chosen to stay with her. Scott and Warren have left, but Bobby and Hank are going nowhere. Neither is Jean Grey, and that fact, as well as the way the girl looks at her, makes Emma smile even on the darkest of her days.
She is a diva, demanding all that she wants and taking it all. She is a Queen, the ruler of her territory which is the school and this group of X-Men, and Jean recognizes that and more. Perhaps best of all is that the girl actually wants to be like her. Jean Grey is finally ready to learn from her, and it no longer bothers Emma that this girl isn't the Jean she knew, the Jean whose husband she stole quite easily. She submits to her on a daily basis. She listens to her, and she admires her.
Emma's smile widens, and she sways her hips a little more as she feels the teenager's wide and innocent eyes upon her body. Finally, she has Jean Grey right where she wants her -- beneath her, and she is her teacher, her better in all ways, and her Queen. Her smile is smug and possessive; she'll keep Red just like that until the Phoenix burns again.
