"What are you doing?" Gunn asks Fred, coming up behind his girl who's glued, yet again, to a computer.

"Nothing." She smiles shyly, pushes her glasses further back up onto the bridge of her nose, and keeps typing. He watches as her fingers fly across her keyboard.

"Admit it, Angelcakes," Lorne said with a knowing grin. "You're standing in the way of your own happiness. All you have to do is grab her, you know; she'd kiss you in a heartbeat. Things may not have worked out with Kate, and you might have kissed Fred that one time, but we all know the one you really want is Cordelia."

"But I'll turn evil," Angel lamented. "I can't kiss her, Lorne! I can't be with her! I can't be happy! I'll become a monster again!"

"She's your link to humanity, Angelcakes. It won't happen with her."

"It happened with Buffy -- "

"That's the past. Besides, I bet Fred could whip up a spell in a jiff to keep Angelus locked in while you and Cordy get your happy on."

"Lorne!"

"Just saying." The green Demon waggled his eyebrows.

"Uh huh." Gunn nods behind her. "You're writing fan fic again."

Fred looks up with a guilty smile. "He deserves to be happy."

"He does, sweetheart," Gunn agrees, "but writing him stories isn't going to make him happy. Maybe you should work on that spell to control Angelus."

"I have been," Fred murmurs, "but I needed a break."

Gunn rubs her shoulders. "It's time for you to have a break any way," he says softly. "It's time for us both to have a break, or did you forget about our date?"

She blushes. "I could never forget about you, Charles," she whispers fondly.

"Then let's go."

"But I'm not dressed yet!"

"You look fine to me."

She blushes again. He takes her hand, his fingers entwining with hers, and leads her from the lab. Neither of them remembers Wesley, sitting at another computer and looking dumbfounded. He stares at the door that shuts behind them for several long minutes before dashing over to Fred's computer. His eyes dash across the screen. "Oh, my," he breathes. "I had no idea she writes fan fic, too!"

He tisks under his breath as he reads her story. She forgot to save it, so he saves the changes for her before moving back to his own computer and his own story. Her tale is good, but his, he thinks, is better. He flexes his fingers as he rereads his own story before resuming typing.

"This," Wesley announced, holding up a small vial, "is what you need, Angel. One sip of this powerful potion, and you will never again have to worry about Angelus."

"Are . . . Are you sure?" the doubting Vampire asked.

Wesley gave him a warm smile. "I'm certain," he confirmed, nodding. "You can be happy, Angel. You deserve to be happy, and this will let you be without the threat of releasing Angelus ever again."

Cordelia squealed in delight as Angel tossed the potion down his throat. He lowered the vial and beamed at his best friend. "How can I ever thank you, Angel?"

"Why," Wesley smiled, "by kissing the girl, of course."

"My pleasure," Angel said. He turned to Cordelia, dipped her, and finally kissed her, making both their dreams come true without releasing his Demon, all thanks to the genius of Wesley Wyndham-Pryce, Rogue Demon Hunter Extraordinaire.

Wesley grins as he skips a few lines before finally typing, The End, and sitting back to survey his masterpiece. "Now, that," he announces proudly in the empty room, "is how you write a story."
