GthmTruthSeeker: Hi, Henry! How are you?
BoyWriter: I'm fine. My family's just been busy, but nothing unusual for us. How are you? I haven't seen you online in days!
GthmTruthSeeker: I wish I could say that I've merely been busy. The truth is that I was pulled unexpectedly away for some time.
BoyWriter: What happened?
GthmTruthSeeker: I'm not at liberty to say, but I'm okay.
BoyWriter: What about your new friend?
GthmTruthSeeker: What new friend?
BoyWriter: That girl you met at school.
GthmTruthSeeker: Oh. Her. I do not believe I will be seeing her again.
BoyWriter: That's a shame.
GthmTruthSeeker: No, it's actually not.
GthmTruthSeeker: Believe me.
BoyWriter: I do. Mind if I ask what happened?
GthmTruthSeeker: She's not who I thought she was.
BoyWriter: She wasn't your friend, huh?
GthmTruthSeeker: No, and worse.
BoyWriter: Worse? Are you sure you're okay?
GthmTruthSeeker: I am, but I did learn that Alfred is right. I must be careful who I trust.
BoyWriter: Who's Alfred?
GthmTruthSeeker: Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't realize I had not mentioned him before. He's my butler. He kind of takes care of me now after what happened to my parents.
BoyWriter's heart pounds harder as he reads each word of GthmTruthSeeker's reply until it's a roaring crescendo crashing in his ears. "MOM!" he screams at the top of his lungs. "MOM!"
Footsteps pound up the hallway. Two women come to a screeching halt just inside his room. "Henry," the brunette chides. "I told you that Internet is not a good thing -- "
"Oh, it's a good thing all right." Henry spins in his mother's chair to face both of his mothers. His grin is so wide and eager that it fills his entire face. "It's a great thing! I told you we'd find more stories this way!"
"Henry," Emma asks carefully, "what have you found?"
"It's not what. It's who. I knew he existed!" Henry exclaims in delight, turning back to his mother's computer. A new message pings, and Henry reads it eagerly.
GthmTruthSeeker: How are your mothers?
"Don't tell him we're here," Emma whispers from behind Henry.
"Don't worry. I won't, and you don't have to whisper. It's not like he can hear you."
BoyWriter: They're finally getting along.
GthmTruthSeeker: Really? I know you're glad.
"You don't know the half of it." It's Henry who's whispering this time, still breathless from his discovery.
Emma has been reading the messages from over his shoulder. "Gotham Truth Seeker?" she says, working out the other child's handle. Her breath catches, her own eyes growing wide. "No way!" she breathes.
"Way!" Henry's grin widens.
"Will you two please tell me what you're talking about?" Regina demands icily, joining them at the console. "Who is this Gotham Truth Seeker, and why do you think he is important, Henry?"
"Oh, he is," Emma agrees before their child can speak.
"Who is he?" Regina demands again.
"Batman."
"Batman? As in one of those costumed superheroes you read about?" Regina asks Henry.
"Oh, yeah! He's one of the best ones, Mom!"
"But he's a kid," Emma cuts in, reading the messages a second time.
"I know." Henry frowns.
"How is that possible?"
"I don't know."
"Maybe these computer things can reach across other realms?" Regina suggests. "Are you certain it's him."
"Absolutely."
"Unless it's some kid playing a game," Emma warns.
"No. No way, Mom. This is Bruce. The Bruce Wayne. He's not just role playing or something. It's really him."
He hesitates, then begins to type again.
BoyWriter: How would you like to come see me?
GthmTruthSeeker: I would love to meet you, but I'm very busy.
BoyWriter: I know. You're trying to find the murderers of your parents. We can help.
GthmTruthSeeker: That's not necessary now, but thank you.
Henry frowns.
BoyWriter: You don't need our help trying to find out who the killer is?
GthmTruthSeeker: I know who he is now. It's one of many things I've learned while I've been away. Now I only have to find him.
BoyWriter: We can help with that, too.
"Henry," Regina asks, "are you sure that's a good idea?"
"I'm sure, Mom," Henry replies eagerly. "He's Batman! This is going to be the adventure of a lifetime!"
"Henry, haven't we already had enough adventures lately?"
"Batman, Mom!" Henry exclaims, his big, wide eyes glowing eagerly. "Bat. Man!"
Emma nods, relenting. "Very well," Regina agrees. "You may invite him to come, but if this Batman turns out to be trouble, I will shred his wings."
"He doesn't actually have wings," Emma murmurs to her for Henry's too busy reading Bruce's reply to comment.
GthmTruthSeeker: If you are certain you can help locate him, yes, I would very much like to meet you.
Henry shouts with glee and throws his arms up into the air. "YES!!!" This is definitely going to be the adventure of a lifetime! He met Merlin and King Arthur in their latest adventure. He is the son of the Evil Queen and the Savior and the grandson of Prince Charming and Snow White and the Beauty and the Beast, even if people do tend to call his other grandfather, Rumplestiltskin, the Dark One more often than an actual beast. But of all the people he's met and all the adventures he's already lived in his young life, nothing is going to be able to compare to this! "I'M GOING TO MEET BATMAN!" he crows, pumping his fists excitedly into the air. "YEAH!"
Regina and Emma exchange a look behind their son's head. "If he turns out to be trouble," Emma agrees, "I'll hold him down and you can rip out his wings."
Regina frowns, ever more puzzled. "But I thought you said he doesn't have wings, Savior."
"He has something," counters Emma, "and if he hurts Henry -- "
"He's not going to hurt me, Mom!" Henry exclaims and hurriedly sets back to typing messages to his new and suddenly favorite friend, telling him exactly how to find them. "And he won't give up our secrets to any one."
"How do you know?" presses Regina.
"Because he's Batman!" Henry exclaims. Then he turns to look at them both seriously. "If you don't trust him, -- "
"We don't," they intone together.
" -- trust me," Henry finishes.
"You have us there, kid."
"We do trust you, Henry," adds Regina but watches carefully nonetheless over her child's shoulder as he plans their next adventure.
