The days following the lifting of the curse have been a whirlwind of activity. First there was the celebration, then the preparation for and the actual wedding, followed by more celebrating. Cogsworth has, as always, orchestrated everything. At least, when they'd been enchanted objects, they'd had plenty of time together, even if they hadn't had hands or lips with which to embrace.
Lumiere had been surprised when Mrs. Potts had told him Cogsworth was calling for him to join him. Now he approaches his love on slow, quiet, and cautious feet. "Cogsworth?" he asks, his voice echoing in the vast library. "You called for me."
"Yes, I did." Cogsworth turns to him, his gold pocket watch, of which he has always been so proud, in his hand. "I thought you might be able to help with the lighting," he continues, pocketing his watch.
"Help how?" Lumiere asks, frowning.
"To dim the candlelight, of course."
"I'm no longer -- " Lumiere starts to say, but Cogsworth reaches out and grasps his hand as the candlelight dims throughout the room. He pulls him close.
"Ah, oui, ma chere," Lumiere murmurs, surrendering eagerly to Cogsworth's kiss that, for once, is not hurried in the least.
