Mardi Gras!

    We just got back from the Mardi Gras parade, and we had a blast!  =)  I am so thrilled that our new town is so welcoming and friendly; there's really a better stance of people here for the most part.  There was no problem with brats running us down or traffic accidents or idiots screaming so loudly that we had headaches afterwards.  What's more, is my beloved Jack was determined to haul my Father with us, especially as Dad's been going through such a rough time lately, -- and, though he won't admit it and only said that he was tired when asked if he'd had a good time, I do believe he enjoyed himself!  My love and I made a haul on the beads and got a few candies, and my Father, who never gets into anything he thinks is "kiddish", such as catching stuff at parades, actually came away with a bead and a moon pie that he got himself!!!!!!!!!  I am SO HAPPY right now!!!!!!!!!!  And I'm thinking about throwing a Mardi Gras parade right here for our own kids and am about to see if I can talk my sweet love into it . . .

    Oh, and did I mention that this also inspired a brand new Mag. 7 fic idea??  I haven't been this excited with a parade since I was a child -- including the one I was in!  =)
