Sam squirmed inside as he watched his friends pacing in their cages. Even Andi's patient smile was mere dressing for he knew her soul was raging like theirs. He could fight the Devil, but yet he couldn't win against this. He was powerless against this enemy, and all he could do, just like the others, was watch the clock slowly ticking and chiming away their doom.
Then, at long last, the hands came together. He grinned; Benjamin and Sock shouted their triumph. They broke and ran at long last from their Hell -- translation, work! They were off for the weekend!
