We've been home for a little while.  My love's operation went smoothly, thank the Gods, but we're still looking for more recovery.  He's actually feeling worse now than he was before the operation as he started getting over his latest attack last night, but of course, if we didn't have it done, he would have ended up having another attack.  Doc found a lot of dead and infected bone and got it all removed.  Didn't have to do anything to the nerve -- at least not yet, thank the Gods.  Please continue to keep us in your good thoughts and prayers, and thank you all for your support and prayers.

It has been a good weekend, but alas, like all mortal things, our weekend has again come to a close.  We actually did stay home all day yesterday.  I've posted all of February's stories now, though I think at one point yesterday I may have called them March's, and we're half way through reading March's.  I finally got to read two of this year's Wick stories of which I'm especially proud to my beloved Jack and our babies, and he not only enjoyed it thoroughly but was also inspired by it.  We, and Moody Blues, made a early night of it last night, and it was wonderful.  =)

Dad actually enjoyed the railroad museum today, is even planning on going back, and that's a plus.  Anything to drag him out of the house should help him.

It's so good knowing that our babies are inside and safe, not only from the poison, but from the cars, the snakes, the rabies, etc.  There's so much that can go wrong outside, but here inside they're really, truly safe from everything but sickness and most of our darlings are pretty healthy, thank the Gods.

And we do also thank Them for a lovely weekend.  Hope we can do this again sometime and soon.  We have a good chance of getting to spend at least one day home next weekend, even if it is our supply shopping weekend, but the next three weeks after that all have doctor's appointments.  Bugger.  Ah, well, it's been fantastic, and it WILL happen again even if we must wait a little while!  =)

It will officially be two weeks tonight that we've been keeping all our babies in.  It's not the best lives for them, but it's infinitely better than the alternative.  At least now they're safe.  There was a small part of me that wondered if maybe we were wrong about the poison, but so far, everybody's doing just fine whereas before it was getting to where we were losing some one every two weeks or so.

My beloved Jack's mouth is doing much better, and we've had a little success with his ears.  A scab fell out the other day, so we're guessing maybe something with his mouth infection caused a sore inside his ears, beyond what we can see and deal with.  He's been doing better ever since.

I'm actually starting to get back to cooking, and it feels good.  I made us a key lime pie and a banana cream pie last week, and we just finished the last piece of the banana today.  Made a fudgy strawberry cheesecake pie today, and actually added a whipped cream topping for the first time with this pie.  I didn't realize until I made the pies last week that I've finally gotten my beloved to liking whipped cream.

We're starting to watch the premiere of Falling Skies.  Doesn't do a thing for me, but my love wants to see it so watch it we will, to paraphrase Yoda.  I'm hoping to be working on posting some fics during the show.

We're actually staying home today.  We've got crap we need to deal with, like our wheels acting up, but I finally put my foot down.  It's been weeks since we got to stay home, and I simply told my love that there's no way we're going out today.  Finally convinced him to stay home.  I was going to hide the keys if I couldn't, so one way or another, we'd be staying home.  :-)  We need it, and so do the babies.  It's good for all of us.  We got 2/3 of the babies brushed today, too, even though they don't particularly like it.  The one cat I thought liked it is getting to where he doesn't even like it.  I don't know where they get these stories about cats liking to be brushed from; out of our beloved 24 babies, no one cares for it.

Hope you all have good, or at least better, days.
