So, as usual, I'm behind. I always have good intentions of staying on top of my messages and reviews, but as much as I value every one of them, it just seems an impossible task. I am slowly working my way through the pile up in my mailbox again, but it dates back to January. Thank y'all for having patience with me and always being so lovely in your kind words and delightful reviews! I may not always respond, and may take forever to do so even when I do, but know that every message is always appreciated and some of y'all manage to make me smile when I otherwise, far too often, wouldn't have much at all to smile about.

But it's surprising the things that do make us smile. I love running into little things that make me think of my friends on here, rather it's songs or sayings that I want to share with y'all, like that Daily Ray of Hope the other day, things I see on the road, like somebody's Hulk decal, or even other little odds and ends that make me think of y'all and smile. [livejournal.com profile] bizarra, if I ever get your snail mail address, I am SO going to have to send you a package of gummy blue sharks like the ones we sell and that remind me of you every time I see them while ordering or checking somebody out and maybe even a T-shirt or two too. We have several Gulf Coast shifts with sharks on them right now, and again, they make think of you every time I spot one!

And then there's our kids who find crazy ways to make us smile. About two weeks ago now, I'd been enjoying Shania Twain's Up! album which I finally got a replacement copy from Drew for Christmas from and FINALLY remembered to get out to my car when I got home and one of her few sad songs (Why do ALL artists have to have them?) popped on and got me all teary-eyed again. (With lyrics like "It only hurts when I breathe" is hit a little too close to home.)

There I was trying to calm down before going in to Drew (because what good would it do for her to see me cry and start crying again herself?) when I noticed one of my favorite baby boys acting a little loco. There's an electrical pole at the end of our trailer. Mister Victor Creed was actually managing to climb the pole about half way up before falling down and starting it all over again! And guess what he was after? A bumblebee! Only my sweet little Sabertooth! LOL

Concerning Drew's foot and the update I've been promising several of y'all for a while now, we've still got a long ways to go, and there's still a chance that they may end up cutting a bone out, but I personally feel like it's doing A LOT better since we saw a new doctor with it last Wednesday! We had to get a new one, because we both strongly felt like we were not in good hands at all with the other VA podiatrist in the area. Among other things (including her saying from the very, bloody start that she thought cutting was a good idea!), the last time we went to her, she cut on my baby's foot to the point that blood spurted on her uniform, and I swear, y'all, you would have thought she was a Vampire by the way she gloated over that blood!! It was like the most delightful thing she'd seen all day!!

But this new doc makes me think of a cross between a young, nonfurry Hank McCoy and a young version of Drell (from Sabrina the Teenage Witch). Now, of course, Drell isn't good, but Drew sees the McCoy in him too. He did say cutting is a possibility but rather moved away from that as he continued to see more and more things from the other doctor that he didn't like. He's now got us on an ointment that's supposed to eat out the bad bacteria for the first two weeks after the appointment before moving back to a strange little bandage-like thing that's supposed to promote healing from then until the time we see him again in five weeks. And already, as I mentioned, I'm seeing a definite improvement. The injury is no longer really a hole, and the pink/red flesh that's there is now almost entirely level with the rest of Drew's actual skin in the area. Now if I can only start seeing some real skin regrow . . . But do definitely keep us in your prayers for, as I said, cutting remains a possibility for now.

My poor dear's also having a heck of a fit with her other, "good" foot being ate up with gout at the moment, so if anybody has any recommendations on what we can try on that (it's a "general/family doctor" issue, not a podiatrist issue unfortunately), please don't hesitate to share! Thank you for always being such a loving group of friends/extended family! I know I would never have gotten through the last few years without y'all, and I love you!!!

I'm sending you something for Drew's gout. It is the best stuff ever!! I drink it three times a day and it's helping me lose weight!

Aren't kitties funny?

So glad that you all are going to a new doc. The last one sounds like a real piece of work. Ugh. But, YAY for healing!

From someone who is chronically behind on answering messages (and who's backlog goes back much farther than January), no worries. *hugs*

Cats do the silliest things sometimes.

Glad to hear that there seems to be some improvement. Hopefully, things will work out better with the new doctor.
